Origine

Muscadet

From our historic vines planted in 1944, Origine du Haut Bourg is a cuvée that reveals a different face of Muscadet. After ten years of aging on fine lees in underground vats, time has given it remarkable depth and complexity while preserving the freshness that defines our terroir. On the nose, it reveals a rich, evolved aromatic palette blending ripe fruit, candied citrus, dried fruit, honey and delicate notes of wax and stone. On the palate, its ample, silky body is balanced by persistent freshness and a long finish. A great gastronomic wine, made for the table and for revealing the full aging potential of Muscadet.

Smoked honey, dense, like a New York cheesecake in richness, tang, texture and utter indulgence. Incredible weight and presence for a 12% wine – it's as if it could anchor itself and create calm in a deep-sea storm. Effulgent, radiant with life and luminosity, brimming with citrus-shimmer richness. If you could spill the liquid from a harvest moon rising, I think it might taste like this. Very, very exciting.

The Wine Doctor

94/100

The flagship lees-aged cuvée, this is currently still in tank, and is due to be bottled in March this year. The fruit comes from vines planted in 1944. This is quite lovely on the nose, a real contrast to Signature, with layers of elderflower, waxed pear and fragrant apple blossom notes too. The palate feels very correct, sinewy and seamless at first, then it turns fresh and delineated, the middle infused with fresh minerals, with a very correct endpalate and a finish of fresh, supple, delicately desiccated pear. It develops good energy through the middle, finishing with a mineral flourish, and it has a good length too. A top result.
