La Désirée

Muscadet

From an organically farmed plot, La Désirée du Haut Bourg is a Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu Sur Lie that precisely expresses the singularity of its brown schist terroir. Aging on fine lees gives it lovely depth while preserving the freshness and tension characteristic of the appellation. On the nose, it reveals a delicate palette of citrus, white flowers and mineral notes. On the palate, it is straight and elegant, carried by lovely liveliness and a long, saline finish. A precise, refined terroir Muscadet that naturally finds its place at the table.

Jancis Robinson

Bronze Medal

An absolute scythe of acidity and grassiness. You can almost hear it whistling through the air before it sweeps a clean, gleaming green slice through a thousand blades of grass. Even the sap seems to sting with the cut. Lime on lime. Strictly for acid freaks, but if you're an acid freak this will make your spine tingle. Brilliant wine to pair with ceviche!

The Wine Doctor

88/100

It opens with a clean, fresh and lightly musky nose, which is followed by a zippy palate, all green apple and lime juice, with plenty of punchy acidity giving it a sense of vigour. It is certainly a wine which represents the vintage – with its acid lime and green apple – nevertheless it is delightfully vigorous, low in alcohol with just 11%.
