Clementine and vanilla and candied citrus peel. A sense of honey and also gives the impression of being full-bodied despite being a very slight 12% alcohol. Touch of thyme. The acidity has the softness of white peach with the cut of lime. Well done.

After vinification in stainless steel this cuvée of Chardonnay has seen out one year in oak, using a mix of medium and lightly toasted barrels. The Chardonnay vines are planted on light and silty soils and were recently acquired by the Choblet brothers. It has a nose of sweetly dried citrus fruits, heavily influenced by the rather buttery and waxy layer of oak that is wrapped all around it. I find a similarly sweet focus on the palate, with a pithy, firm and slightly confected note. It finishes in a pithy style, with an oaky flourish. This will surely find some fans.
